Edwards and Gary O'Neil Among Wolves Managerial Contenders

Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil represent the early names under consideration to replace Vitor Pereira as manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Pereira was dismissed on the weekend after the squad's 10-match winless start to the Premier League campaign.

Furthermore both candidates - each of whom have previous links to the club - are part of the names to be evaluated by the Wolves ownership.

Edwards is currently at another club, which would pose a possible hurdle to his hiring at Molineux.

However the ex- Luton head coach - who played more than 100 of games for Wolves during his time as a player - is said to be a strong contender for the position.

The mid-career manager is reportedly enjoys backing from the Wolves directors as they begin the process of appointing a fresh head coach.

O'Neil is additionally emerging as a unexpected candidate, although he would be a shock choice considering he was sacked by Wolves in December last year.

The ex- West Ham midfielder is out of work meaning Wolves would not need to pay any buyout fee.
