Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil represent the early names under consideration to replace Vitor Pereira as manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Pereira was dismissed on the weekend after the squad's 10-match winless start to the Premier League campaign.

Furthermore both candidates - each of whom have previous links to the club - are part of the names to be evaluated by the Wolves ownership.

Edwards is currently at another club, which would pose a possible hurdle to his hiring at Molineux.

However the ex- Luton head coach - who played more than 100 of games for Wolves during his time as a player - is said to be a strong contender for the position.
